Marshal at Coniston ’26
Swimrun Coniston is only able to take place thanks to the kind hearts of our volunteers. We offer them a donation to a good cause of their choice, or a transferrable race credit in return, as a thank you.
It’s always a scramble for us to find enough marshals at our busiest time, so please help by volunteering early for 2026.


Getting To Coniston
Despite the name, our race HQ is in Grasmere so most people stay either in Grasmere, Ambleside or Windermere, all of which are well served by the local bus service (either 555 or 599).
There is a good train service to Windermere, via a change at Oxenholme – typical times from London are 3h 15min or Manchester 1h 30min, from where you can get either a bus or take a taxi.
Accommodation
We advise all athletes and visitors to book early as September is still a very busy month in the Lake District.
Race HQ and the finish zone is at Tweedies, situated in the heart of Grasmere.
Nearby accommodation will be in high demand so we suggest you book early. Ambleside is a great option too.
